Anti-parabolic

'story-telling is for children,’ declares a poor evangelist,
who thinks the parable-form clouds the deeper spiritual meaning

Our Father in heaven has given us all good gifts. But we have squandered those gifts recklessly on sin in rebellion or apathy towards God.

Yet if you repent, (turn around and head in the direction God wants your life to take), he will welcome you, shower you with gifts and restore you to full sonship.

So, here is the process: acknowledge you are a sinner, express your contrite sorrow, repent, confess, humble yourself in mortification, approach the mercy seat, invite the judge of all to wash you with the blood of the lamb, be regenerated, receive the free gift of salvation and enter into fully justified relationshp and sanctifying fellowship with eternal God, who will baptise you with power from on high, impart wisdom and imput righteousness, atoning you and legally exchanging your destiny of despair and destruction for one of hope and escatalogical security.

Couldn’t be simpler!

So, pop up a hand or come on down. Come on out of your seats, now. The busses will wait; you can just come to the front and receive counseling from the people with the badges who are dying to share with you. We have a free booklet you can have to keep, if you pray the prayer. Come on down.
